Let’s talk about Emma & Jake’s wedding. Amazingly relaxed but yet fancy affair with a ceremony held in belfry of Gothic tower in Prague. Climbing a few steep stairs was worth for the wedding guests as the views from the tower are amazing. „Our ceremony was held in the beautiful bell tower, with its rustic charm and exposed beams. It felt intimate and romantic and a contradiction to our reception. We live in an old cottage in the UK and have a 'thing' for period features. It also felt like getting married in a little castle which every girl dreams of „ says Emma.
Art deco ballroom wedding in Prague
May 21, 2014
We met Emma & Jake in London two years ago and planning their wedding was very smooth and relaxed. This lovely couple came to Prague with around 20 guests to celebrate their big day. Wedding guests were blown away by seeing and enjoying the beauties of historical Prague throughout the day and little touches such as a miniature bottle of Czech liquor Becherovka as a favour for each of them made it even nicer. After the ceremony a vintage tram with an accordionist that made them all sing brought them to the river where a private boat was already waiting. Reception took place in breathtaking Ballroom of Luxury boutique hotel in Prague.
Emma & Jake chose an Art deco theme for their Prague wedding. “We chose an Art Deco theme based around my engagement ring which is a French 1920's piece. I love the era- the glitz and glamour of it all and wanted to create something different from the norm.”
Emma had a very beautiful brooch bouquet that she made herself! How incredible is that. „I decided to create a brooch bouquet for several reasons after seeing one in a wedding magazine. The first reason, was that my dress was simple ivory satin and I wanted something to compliment it. The idea of a brooch bouquet fitted our Art Deco theme as well- I sourced most of my brooches from ebay, selecting antique, art deco pieces. I started work on it a year before the wedding, put it down for months and am embarrassed to say that I was still wrapping the ribbon around the base of it the night before!” It turned out absolutely wonderful and we loved hearing about the special sentimental meaning and value of some the pieces Emma put into the bouquet. Emma says that she “loves the fact that she keep the bouquet forever and hope it becomes a family heirloom!”. How sweet.
And Emma’s favourite moment of the day? „It is impossible for me to say what the favourite part of the wedding was. Absolutely everything was incredible but especially seeing the enjoyment on the guests faces of all the treats we had in store throughout the day as well as the amazing food and drink! Our guests have gushed about our wedding, describing it as 'magical'. The vintage tram ride and accordionist, however, remain the biggest talking point. Everyone loved that!“
And what was one of the things we loved the most? Emma’s shoes! And we know Emma won’t mind that we say it as she loved them too. What is not to love about them, just have a look at the photos!
