Our summer wedding season is slowly coming to an end. It’s time to sit down and look back at all the wonderful weddings we have had the pleasure to plan and all the wonderful couples we have met.
Emma & Alastair are one of the sweetest people we met and we are so happy that Emma wanted to share their experience with their Prague wedding with the world. Here it is – we hope you’ll enjoy it.
Art Nouveau Prague wedding
October 02, 2017
Q. Why Prague?
A. We knew we wanted a small intimate wedding and also always liked the idea of getting married abroad. We actually decided on Prague after stumbling across the White Agency website and instantly falling in love with all of it! Something about the company’s ethos and style seemed really special to us and exactly what we had been looking for. I (Emma) had also never been to Prague so loved the idea of creating memories in a completely new place which looked magical! Shortly after deciding we met Petra in London who made us feel instantly at ease - we knew we’d made the right decision!
Q. How did you choose the venues and the date?
A. We chose March because we wanted a spring wedding and luckily had the perfect weather - sunny, bright and not too hot! It is also worth noting that we only properly set the date in Nov/Dec (I think!) so planned it all really quickly thanks to the agency!
The venues were actually quite easy for us as we fell in love with them instantly after finding them on the website so were set pretty early on! We got married in Mayor’s Hall, Municipal House, the city’s foremost Art Nouveau building and utterly stunning! I have always loved the Art Nouveau style and could not think of a better place to get married! After the ceremony we had drinks on the balcony and shortly after got a vintage tram to the reception. The vintage tram was recommended to us by the team and we would highly recommend to anyone getting married in Prague, it was so much fun and such a unique experience - all our guests loved it! We had our reception at the Palffy Palace. It was perfect - so decadent, understated, a completely beautiful building that required no dressing (we are not one for bows and frills!) and created the perfect relaxed atmosphere for our guests. We danced till the small hours and were made to feel so at home!
Q. What stood out?
A. Everything! :) It is cliche to say it was the best day of our lives but it really was. The combination of everything - the city, the venues, the people, all the small details - and being made to feel completely and utterly looked after by the White Agency Team at every stage was something we will always remember, and wish we could do again! Natalie, our organiser, was just wonderful, so friendly, organised and sweet, a true professional and just a lovely person - I would recommend her to anyone getting married - we could not have done it without her! Our hotel (hotel Klarov), again recommended by the agency, were so accommodating, just perfect for us and made us feel so special. I must say highly recommend our photographer, Matej, and his partner, Edith, these two made us feel so relaxed and looked after and we were so overwhelmed with the final result. They honestly felt like part of our party not just the photographers and we are forever grateful for everything they did! We honestly loved every photo. Book them whilst you can! Last mention would be to Minna (http://www.minna.co.uk) a bridal boutique in London who made my dress and veil for me, both were perfect and just what I wanted. Another truly lovely team!
