We believe that each wedding is unique and has to be treated with a personal touch. We asked Ashley, our Bride from Canada, who married her prince Ladi on June 30th 2012 in Prague, to share her wedding experience with others.. and when we read what she had to say about her destination wedding, we knew that we simply cannot do it in a different way. Here is what Ashley says about her Czech-Canadian wedding in Prague. Ashley & Ladi, thank you from the bottom of our hearts, it was a pleasure.
Where do I begin with my wonderful wedding day story! The day was so special and I feel I could write about it for hours and hours....
First off was choosing a place for our wedding. My husband Ladislav is from Czech Republic and I am from Canada. He from day one wanted it in Czech Republic and I was completely open to that! We spend our summers here in Czech Republic and over the last 4 years of being here I fall more and more in love with Prague each time and it seemed like the perfect place to marry my prince! Prague it was : )
Next was to begin the planning process. Firstly I was overwhelmed with all the things to do with a destination wedding and secondly our wedding taking place in a city where I could not speak the language. I knew I needed to find someone great to help me plan this day and I sure found that, I found someone better then great, WONDERFUL! I was reading a Canadian bridal magazine and came across a story of a couple from Vancouver who chose Prague for their wedding and used the White Wedding Agency to plan it. The bride mentioned a lady named Natalie from the wedding agency as being her “fairy godmother” and I knew that this was who I needed to help me! I emailed White Wedding Agency and asked for Natalie to be my planner! The bride from the magazine was right, she really is a “fairy godmother”!
From day one of planning Natalie was amazing! She got everything we wanted for our day and more! It was a year of planning and every second was worth it! A fairytale wedding from the beginning to the end! It started with our ceremony conducted by our wonderful priest at the breathtaking chapel, Sacre Couer with the beautiful sounds of the string quartet playing. We then ventured up to the top of the Prague castle for photos by our very talented photographer. After a very warm photo session it was off to the Kempinski hotel for our reception. Guests were greeted with welcome drinks and beautiful music played in the gardens. After my husband and I arrived on the balcony to greet all our family and friends, everyone moved in to the spectacular dining room for a gourmet 5 course meal. It was then off to the dance floor to share our first dance as husband and wife to our favorite song “This Years Love” sang by the AMAZING band Natalie had found for us. Then the party really started! The DJ took over from the band and we danced into the wee hours with our family and friends! It was a picture perfect day!
One special memory I have from the wedding day with Natalie was when I woke up and opened the curtains to see dark sky with rain I was worried, even though I know rain on the wedding day is a sign of good luck I was really hoping for sun. I was messaging with Natalie and she said to me “don’t worry Ashley the sun will be out by 12pm and it will be a beautiful day.” She was sure right! It was the little moments like this with Natalie that made her even more then a wedding planner but a friend.
Natalie, we can not thank you enough!!!!
Your friends,
Ashley & Lada
